CO₂ laser treatment uses a focused beam of energy to remove or ablate selected lesions affecting the anus and surrounding skin. It may be considered for conditions such as anal warts and certain superficial or precancerous anal lesions.

The laser allows the surgeon to target affected tissue precisely while limiting damage to the surrounding area. The procedure required will depend on the number, size, position and clinical nature of the lesions.

Not every anal lesion is suitable for laser treatment. A specialist assessment and, where necessary, a biopsy are essential before treatment is recommended.
